Financial Support

An essential element to ensure all can participate equally

The HNN understands that, with the skyrocketing cost of living, many people struggle with having money left over to afford the cost to stay socially connected.  The HNN is committed to  making things a little easier.

The HNN proudly supports activities and events that are mostly not-for profit with volunteer hosts.  Currently, the cost of activities ranges from $2 - $10.   Seniors with fixed, low incomes can participate in all activities free of charge.

There is usually a shared cost for admission costs related to trips with a significant portion of the cost being covered with funding provided through the program and the participants paying the balance.  Funding is provided  to cover 100% of the admission costs for low income seniors. Transportation costs are covered (100%) for everyone.

In order to ensure that everyone has an equal opportunity to participate, cost is also a primary consideration for events.  Events occur less frequently than regular activities, often cost a little more,  and  can include such things as music shows, pickleball tournaments, community dinners and guest speaker events.  The HNN will support the cost for low-income seniors to  participate in events as the budget allows.

At this time, there is no screening to determine eligibility for financial support, relying instead on people being honest and only requesting support if they need it.  The number of people needing assistance to participate will determine how long the funds set aside will last.  The HNN reserves the right to ask for income verification in extenuating circumstances.

Privacy is respected and the HNN goes out of its way to ensure that no one is stigmatized for needing financial support to participate.  We encourage all who would like to participate  and need financial support to do so, to reach out to us at the phone number below.
