Tatlock Hall

Tatlock Hall has long been the focus of the Tatlock community.

Originally constructed as a Presbyterian Church in 1850 in Brightside, the church was shut down in 1914. In 1939, the church was disassembled and reconstructed at Tatlock Corner.

In 2007, with Tatlock Road to be paved, the hall (55 tons worth) was moved to its present location. Within three years, it was lovingly restored by volunteers, spearheaded by Ewen Alexander. Distinct with its high, tongue-in-groove ceiling and floor, a state-of-the-art kitchen, and accessible washrooms, the hall was more than ready to resume its role as the main social gathering place for this northern Lanark Highlands community.

The modern-day Tatlock Hall is a popular venue for family gatherings, exercises, concerts, cards, bingo parties, children's play groups and music lessons.  Max Sutherland's library is located on the lower level of the hall and is home to his extensive Canadian book collection.  It is also the meeting place for the HNN Board. A play structure and a sports field referred to as 'The Field of Dreams" are the latest additions to complement the hall. In the summer, softball and soccer are offered.
